Cristiano Ronaldo, also known as CR7, is a Portuguese professional football player widely considered one of the greatest football players of all time. He was born on February 5, 1985, in Madeira, Portugal.
Ronaldo began his footballing journey with Andorinha, a local club in Madeira, at the age of eight. His talents were soon noticed, and he was recruited to play for Nacional, another club in Madeira, where he continued to develop his skills.
In 1997, Ronaldo was invited to join the youth academy of Sporting Lisbon, one of the most prestigious clubs in Portugal. He quickly impressed with his pace, skill, and finishing ability, and was soon promoted to the first team.
Ronaldo's performances for Sporting Lisbon caught the attention of scouts from some of Europe's biggest clubs, and in 2003, he signed for Manchester United in a deal worth £12.24 million. He quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young players in Europe, helping United to win three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League.

In August 2021, Ronaldo joined Al Nassr Club in Saudi Arabia on a two-year contract. So far, he has made a strong start to his time at the club, scoring several goals in his first few matches.
Ronaldo has also had a hugely successful international career, scoring 118 goals in 193 appearances for Portugal and helping them to win the UEFA European Championship in 2016 and the UEFA Nations League in 2019.
Throughout his career, Ronaldo has won numerous individual awards, including five Ballon d'Or trophies, given to the world's best player, and four European Golden Shoes, given to the top scorer in European leagues. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and has inspired a generation of young footballers with his dedication, skill, and work ethic.
